Electric Nights Collection by China Glaze

Here is a review and swatches of the China Glaze Electric Nights Collection. I got the mini collection for about $12 at Ulta. It comes with six (6) electrifying neons.

I love neons so you can imagine how excited I am over this. 

Let me just start by saying all the formulas in this collection are very runny/liquid-y.  To me, that is great because you can use them for water marbling. 

Some of them have good opacity but some not so much. You will either need a white base or several coats to make some colors pop. For my swatches, I didn't use a white base. Also, no base or top coat were used. The colors and shine are on their own. 

First up is a bright yellow called "Daisy Know My Name?" You definitely need a white base for this. This color is very sheer. For this swatch, I used three coats with not white base.

Next up is "DJ Blue My Mind." Two coats of this neon blue wills suffice to get the color in the bottle. I find it a little streaky, so the second coat is a must to get rid of that. Gorgeous blue!

This is called "Red-y To Rave." I am sucker for neon orange or pink colors. This is just SO beautiful. I can't stop looking at my nails every time I wear this color. You need two coats to get the color in the bottle. This one is not too streaky. It is an orange color with red undertones.

Next is "Treble Maker." I know you are drooling over this green. It is so bright that almost blinds you. You need two coats to get the color in the bottle. One thing about this, I just love the name too. It definitely matches the intensity of the it.

Next up is "Violet Vibes." Although, I love purple, this is my least favorite color of this collection. It is because I don't feel like it is too bright. It is very sheer. You need at least three or four coats to get the color in the bottle. It is also a little streaky. Don't get me wrong. I like it, and I can see myself using again, but I don't love it.

I used it to do a neon gradient over a white base, and it definitely is WAY better over it. So my suggestion would be to apply it over a white base to really make this color pop.

Last but not least is "Glow with the Flow." Can you say SHINE???? This has got to be my favorite of the collection. I mean, just look at the high shine this polish has. Again, I am wearing no base or top coat. This is all on it own. Gorgeous 'in-your'face' pink neon.  It is not streaky and you only need two coats of this baby to make it pop.

My overall thoughts, I do like this collection. The colors are pretty. The consistency is runny which makes them perfect for water marbling. They dry glossy and not semi-matte like other neon polishes do. I really like it. 

Would I buy the full size? Probably not. Not because I don't like it, but because I have too many polishes that it will be a waste to have full size of these babies sitting there.  Also, I don't do a lot of water marbling but if I did. I'd probably buy the full sizes.
